Things to do in St Lucia
Although St. Lucia is not as well known as other Caribbean Islands, it is one of the best out of the way places to visit. This island is 27 miles long and fourteen miles wide, and it has steep coastlines and beautiful reefs. In addition this island has rain forest and a mountainous interior. The rain-forest covers over 18,500 acres and is home to many species of birds, ferns, indigenous trees and exotic fruit trees. For the nature lover, this has the makings of a wonderful excursion. If you are wanting to stay away from the crowds at the more popular Islands, this is the place to go. The people of St. Lucia have a reputation for their warmth and charm, and this island is noted for its open-air markets, villages and fortresses built years ago.
St Lucia has all the characteristics that you will ever want in a beautiful island including excellent accommodations and activities. These activities include golf, horseback riding, helicopter tours, windsurfer and sailing.
Located between Martinique and St.Vincent near northern Barbados, St Lucia is also known for its swimming, snorkeling and diving. If you are wanting to vacation in a semi-undiscovered location St. Lucia could be for you.
